Drink Lou, Support Ales For ALS
Last year, The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company was one of 80 breweries across the country chosen to participate in Ales for ALS. This program not only gave Brew Gentlemen Co-Founders Matt Katase and Asa Foster an opportunity to support a cause in which they are personally connected, it also resulted in one of the most well-received beers in Brew Gentlemen’s extensive portfolio – a beer aptly named Lou.
This year, Lou is back to support Ales For ALS once again.
The 2016 edition of Lou is currently on tap at the Braddock taproom, with $1 from each draft sold going towards the fight against ALS. Lou is a Double IPA that clocks in at 8.5% ABV and is a bit more resinous and herbal than its 2015 predecessor, featuring an intense character of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and pine.
Ales for ALS is a national fundraising campaign started in 2013 by a Yakima Valley hop farming family to raise funds and awareness for ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Each year, Loftus Ranches and YCH HOPS donate a unique blend of experimental hops to breweries throughout the United States while asking for a minimum donation to ALS.net of $1 for every pint sold. This year, over 100 breweries nationwide will brew their own beer that best showcases this special blend of hops.
ALS.net is a global awareness and fundraising movement that supports the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the first and largest non-profit biotech focused 100% on ALS research. Learn more at www.als.net
