Whole Foods Opening BRAND NEW Wexford Pub

New Wexford PubBeer. Guac. Tots. It’s like someone gave The Wexford Pub the secret combination to my heart.

For years, the ability to pick up beer at a grocery store in Pennsylvania was nonexistent. These days, things have changed…and stores like Whole Foods in Wexford are taking things to a brand new level.

Whole Foods’ acclaimed location on Perry Highway in Wexford has been selling beer from a small taproom with an even smaller walk-in cooler to grab mix-and-match six packs for several years. But starting March 15th, they are changing the game with the grand opening of The Wexford Pub, located right next door to the grocery store in the space previously occupied by Starbucks.

This renovated, modern venue features 24 taps with a strong selection of local beer, a window connecting to Whole Foods’ kitchen so you can order several delectable apps, salads, sandwiches, and more, a relaxing atmosphere with lounge seating and a pool table, and an extensive bottle selection to ensure you head home with the perfect combination of beer for your fridge.

Wexford Pub Opening Tap ListThe Wexford Pub kicked things off on Tuesday night with a private party to introduce some of us to what’s upcoming. We were treated to beer samples including Helltown Brewing’s The Rapture IPA, Brixton Brewery’s Matthew English Mild Ale, and Hop Farm Brewing’s One Nut Brown Brown Ale. The debut tap list (seen right) is a thing of beauty, with several local beers and two incredibly popular seasonal brews: Fat Head’s Hop Juju and Bell’s Hopslam.

Menu items included the most addicting guacamole I’ve ever encountered, Iceberg Lettuce Wedges, Brussels Sprouts in a honey sriracha sauce, pierogies, kielbasa sliders, fried avocado sandwiches, and, my personal favorite, tater tots with cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, chives and bacon.
