4th Annual Good Wood Barrel-Aged Beer Fest Slated for January 20th

If there’s one thing I love about January, it’s that there’s lots of things to love. Playoff football, the college football championships, the silent majesty of a winter’s morn, the clean, cool chill of the holiday air…one paragraph in and I’m already getting off track…

Moving along, fans of beer in these here parts also know January to be a pretty fantastic time as well. The opening salvo of a new 365 brings with it the arrivals of popular seasonal offerings like Troeg’s Nugget Nectar and Bell’s Hopslam among many others, with Fat Head’s Hop Juju not too far off in the arrival schedule. And for those of us that seek libation love in a barrel, Wigle Whiskey and East End Brewing never disappoint when playing matchmaker.

A celebration of all fermented beverages barrel-aged returns as Wigle and East End host the 4th Annual Good Wood Barrel-Aged Beer Festival on Saturday, January 20th from 6pm – 9pm at East End Brewing in East Liberty. Many Pittsburgh area breweries will converge to share the very best offerings from their barrel-aged programs and Wigle will be right by their side sampling several of their choice spirits. Your full price ticket earns you a snifter glass for beer sampling (yours to keep at the end of the evening), beer samples throughout the evening, and Wigle spirits samplings.

There is also a designated driver ticket available that includes a souvenir snifter glass and East End’s homemade ginger ale for your enjoyment. Food truck for the event to be announced soon.
