Disobedient Spirits Captures Five Awards at ASCA

Yesterday’s Short Pour covered the incredible showing Wigle Whiskey and Maggie’s Farm Rum put on at the 2016 American Craft Spirits Awards with both organizations bringing home a boatload of honors. However, yours truly inadvertently forgot to include our distilling neighbors over in Indiana County. And for that, I apologize.

Disobedient Spirits entered this year’s competition for the first time in their distillery’s history and, in true Western PA fashion and just like their peers in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, kicked some serious ass! Disobedient brought home five awards from this year’s Craft Spirits Awards, one of the biggest craft spirits conventions and award shows in the country. Those awards included a gold and a silver medal. Not too shabby for a distillery who has yet to celebrate their first anniversary.

Jordan Gwinn, Director of Operations for Disobedient, received praise from the director of the ASCA for their accomplishments, as well as a mention towards how hot Pennsylvania is for craft spirits these days.

“Hot” seems to be an understatement. Overall, this region is scorching…and things only promise to keep getting bigger and better.

Congratulations, Disobedient Spirits!

Disobedient SpiritsIf you’d like to check out Disobedient, they are part of an Indiana Brew Tour hosted by PA Brew Tours that will be guided by yours truly on Saturday, March 12th. This tour will also stop by Noble Stein Brewing and Levity Brewing, who just so happens to be celebrating their GRAND OPENING on THAT VERY DAY.
