All Things Pumpkin Come Your Way October 13th
Ah, Fall. Football. Hockey. Bonfires. Crisp winds. Multi-colored leaves. Hoodies. And, perhaps the most polarizing beer style of them all – pumpkin. All of this collectively signifies the end of a glorious summer and gets us ready for the inevitable winter months to come. But, I say, embrace Fall for all its worth and enjoy every last minute of it!
One of Pittsburgh’s most celebrated Fall festivals is brought to us by our friends at Blue Dust. For the past six years, the area underneath the Homestead Grays Bridge just down the street from one of Homestead’s many craft beer destinations has been home to Pumpkin Fest. This day-long celebration is the quintessential ‘goodbye Summer, hello Autumn’ gathering with food trucks, music, and pumpkin and other Fall beer offerings as far as the eye can see. Whether you dig pumpkin beers or not, Pumpkin Fest has proven to be a party you don’t want to miss.
This year’s version of Pumpkin Fest marks its 7th installment and is set to unfold on Saturday, October 13th from 1-10pm under the Homestead Grays Bridge once again. It happens to fall on Day 2 of Pittsburgh Libations Week, a new celebration of all things adult beverage in Pittsburgh that has been well-documented here on Breaking Brews. Pumpkin Fest represents another staple event in Pittsburgh’s drinking culture, drawing hundreds and hundreds of people throughout the day every Fall to enjoy good food, good beers, and good times.
In addition to the aforementioned goodies, Blue Dust will also be featuring a variety of craft cocktails at Pumpkin Fest. Bringing the music to the event are The House of Soul Band, Elias Khouri, and more.
Admission is free to Pumpkin Fest. You can purchase tickets for beverages upon arrival. Cash only!
