Oysters, Cocktails, Music and Beers Under the Homestead Grays Bridge

I’ve done the research, and it’s official: there’s no better way to wind down April than by spending it with the great folks of Blue Dust at the 5th Annual Oyster Fest on Saturday, April 28th starting at 1:00pm under the Homestead Grays Bridge. This event has been the quintessential kickoff to summer since 2014 and this year’s version promises to deliver another great time for all those in attendance.

Blue Dust owner and Pittsburgh craft beer pioneer Jerry Miller has maintained a stellar relationship with Rogue Ales over his many years in the industry and that’s led to a lineup of great Rogue offerings at the event PLUS oysters brought in from Oregon, home of the brewery since 1988. The oysters will be shucked and served up for your enjoyment throughout the day. In addition, food trucks will be on hand to provide some additional grub, guaranteeing you won’t go hungry as you indulge on a beer lineup featuring the aforementioned Rogue, as well as Victory Summer Love, Stone IPA, and a spring time favorite: Bell’s Oberon. You’ll also be able to enjoy Jack’s Peach Cider as well. Click here, then click on the Oyster Fest 5 tab to get the full lineup.

Craft cocktails? Oyster Fest’s got ’em! This year’s menu features:

Hot Paloma – House-infused Grilled Jalapeno Strawberry, Pineapple Tequila, Grapefruit Soda, and smoked sea salt
Pickled Ginger Moscow Mule – House-infused Pickled Vodka and Spicy Ginger Beer
Who’s Going to Buffet? – House-infused Grilled Pineapple Rum, Coconut Washed Rum, house coconut creme, and snow

Oyster Shooter selections include horseradish, smoked pepper, and kimchi.

Wigle Whiskey will also be under the bridge serving up cocktails.

With beer and food covered, it’s time for the entertainment. Live music will fill the air under the bridge throughout the day, with performances from The House of Soul Band, The Cheer’ly Men, and INCO FidO all lined up.

Oyster Fest is cash only and admission is free. Tickets for beers, oysters, and cocktails are $6 each. Parking can be found at Blue Dust, off street, or wherever your car lands in the Homestead neighborhood. Children and dogs are permitted; must be 21 and present a valid ID to purchase alcohol.
