Turtle Eclipse Release, Pop Up Tiki, and New Brunch Menu Highlight Spoonwood’s Calendar
Spoonwood Brewing Company has a full slate of events lined up this weekend that should motivate you to get to Bethel Park on both Saturday and Sunday.
In case you haven’t heard, Spoonwood collaborated with Hitchhiker Brewing and the Turtle Survival Alliance to brew a Tropical Stout known as Turtle Eclipse (pictured right). You can read more about the project here.
To celebrate the release, Spoonwood will be hosting a special event Saturday starting at 11:30am with live turtles on site. A limited number of 22oz. bombers of Turtle Eclipse will be available for purchase and the unique stout will be on tap for the first time. In addition, a couple tropical items will highlight Spoonwood’s food menu. To top things off, Hidden Harbor will be in the house starting at 7:00pm with a special pop-up tiki bar, giving you the opportunity to experience some of the best tiki cocktails in Pittsburgh.
As if Saturday weren’t jam-packed enough, Spoonwood is also debuting a brand new Brunch menu on Sunday morning starting at 10:30am. Some of your favorites will still be featured, including the Keep It Classic and Brecky Sliders. But the latest incarnation of Spoonwood Brunch, prepared by Executive Chef Marcus Barckhoff, includes a variety of items designed to stick to your ribs, such as the Belgian Waffle, Hot Iron French Toast, and Chicken and Waffle Slider.
