Episode 4 Show Notes

  • The potential name change of ‘craft’ beer to ‘indie’ or ‘independent’ beer
  • Soft opening for Recon Brewing in Butler on Memorial Day Weekend
  • 3rd Anniversaries for Brew Gentlemen and Grist House
  • SAVE THE DATE: Pittsburgh Libations Week Kickoff Bash – Tuesday, July 11th at Industry in Lawrenceville

“For years, small breweries were referred to as ‘microbreweries,’ but that label slowly transitioned to ‘craft’ beer.”

“Craft is dead. Now we drink Indie beer.”

“AB InBev’s mission is to cloak the brands they’ve purchased in the disguise of small, independently owned outfits. Their “High-End” Division is still branded the same, but their tactics have led to less shelf space for smaller breweries and price decreases, making it more difficult for smaller breweries to compete.”

“But the message has clearly changed. Five years ago, it was bikinis, cat fights, and snarky comedy. Today, when they’re not giving us a cavity with their saccharin shorts of the horsey rescuing the puppy or blatantly jabbing at craft beer drinkers for fussing over their beer, the focus of today’s ads are on quality.”

“If beer drinkers want to see boobs, they turn to Pornhub. If they want quality beer, they turn to the breweries that are showcasing it, whether it be on social media or other mediums.”
