March came in with a bang as the Over a Couple of Beers crew got an amazing opportunity to interview Claudio Sanchez, guitarist and lead singer for Coheed and Cambria. The band was in town for their show at Stage AE and absolutely tore the house down. But, before they did that, Claudio took a few minutes to talk about the tour, the music industry, and, of course, craft beer.
In this show, you’ll hear us reference the cover of Adele’s smash hit ‘Hello’ that Claudio did acoustic on YouTube. It’s a badass solo for sure. At the end of the show, my co-host Jason Collins tried to play it into the mic. Via his phone. In the packed and noisy Rivertowne North Shore. Yeah, that didn’t work so well. I apologize for the static that caused at the very end of the show. But other than that, we had a great time putting this session together.
For Part 1 of the podcast, we were also joined by Spoonwood Brewing’s Head Brewer Steve Ilnicki, the man behind Screamin’ Danger, the collaboration beer done by Spoonwood and Coheed that you’ll learn about on the show. In Part 2, we welcomed back Meg and James Evans for the usual fun that only the two of them can bring to the airwaves.
Please find below Claudio’s cover of Hello, a few pictures from the show, and Session 32 of Over a Couple of Beers!
Oh, we’re calling them ‘sessions’ now. Word to your mother.
