The Pittsburgh Craft Beer Network is pleased to announce a partnership with Pour For A Cure, a craft beer event being held Friday, January 22nd at the US Steel Tower in Downtown Pittsburgh. This event is entering its 6th year and all proceeds from the three-hour gathering will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Pour For A Cure is being dubbed “The Happiest and Most Helpful Happy Hour in January,” and every dollar earned will benefit millions of patients battling blood cancers.
Admission to this event is limited, with only 350 tickets being sold. Your admission includes access to craft beer samples donated by Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale, as well as food samples donated by various local Pittsburgh restaurants, including Black & Gold Fan, Chaz & Odette, and The Livermore. There will also be a silent auction filled with several great prize packages for you to bid on.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or LLS, is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. It was founded in 1949 and its mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, as well as improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Their support has helped hundreds of thousands of blood cancer patients live normal lives.
LLS has invested more than $100 million towards research for a cure, $79 million in 2013 alone. Programs like the Specialized Center of Research (SCOR), which brings teams of scientists together from different disciplines, as well as the Translational Research Program, have directly contributed to many breakthrough cancer treatments.

Pour For A Cure is another fantastic event featuring craft beer that gives back to a worthy cause. Throughout the year, the city of Pittsburgh is fortunate to experience a wide variety of beer and spirits festivals and gatherings, many of which were created to raise money for charities and non-profit organizations. 2016 promises to be no different and Pour For A Cure is one of the first to get the ball rolling in the brand new year.
Pour For A Cure will run from 5:30pm to 8:30pm with last call happening at 8:00. Stay tuned to the Pittsburgh Craft Beer Network over the next few weeks for updates about the event, connect to the Pour For A Cure website, or access the site through PCBN Connect to snag your tickets before they’re sold out. If you can’t make it on Friday the 22nd, please take a few seconds to donate to the cause directly through the Pour For A Cure website.
