OACOB: Session 50 – Dancing Gnome & PA Brew Tours

This Fall is shaping up to be huge for the Pittsburgh craft beer scene. Unofficially, we are staring down the barrel at 5-6 brand new breweries opening up in the region. No dates are official and, as it always seems to be, each will have their share of last-minute obstacles to overcome before they can finally pour you that first pint. But when it’s all said and done, the end result will be worth all the effort…and you and I will have more beer to drink.

In Session 50 of Over a Couple of Beers, I got an opportunity to sit down with an individual on the cusp of opening his brewery in Sharpsburg: Andrew Witchey of Dancing Gnome Beer. Andrew’s brewing equipment is installed, his taproom is nearing completion, and Dancing Gnome is looking to be up and running in the very near future.

In addition, I was joined on the show by Tim Harden, Director of PA Brew Tours. For those of you who don’t know, PA Brew Tours works with many libations destinations in Pittsburgh to arrange guided tours of each facility, giving you an up close and personal look at what’s happening at each spot. It’s a chance to see how breweries, wineries, and distilleries operate from the inside out AND sample some of the incredible products these businesses are producing daily.

If you haven’t done so already, subscribe to Over a Couple of Beers on iTunes and Stitcher.

Enjoy the latest session!
