Now that Breaking Brews has been taken off the shelf and is officially in place as The Official Craft Beer Blog of the Pittsburgh Craft Beer Network, it’s time to get the content flowing once again. If you’ve been looking for a creative outlet to express your affection for craft beer, Breaking Brews is the place to do it! We are looking for new columns, insights, commentaries, and even a video series or two to be featured on the blog.
What is the Breaking Brews Blogging Alliance?
The Breaking Brews Blogging Alliance is a group of writers contributing to the coverage of the craft beer scene in Pittsburgh and beyond via Breaking Brews. Your article can cover a wide variety of topics; from beer festival write-ups to beer reviews to home brewing to cooking with beer to general opinion, the BBBA is an open forum that allows you to pen your thoughts and share it with our community.
Our goal is to deliver quality content to craft beer enthusiasts looking to increase their knowledge on beer, as well as find a good outlet for taking in some relaxing craft beer literature. We don’t have deadlines (although it would be cool if you could contribute at least one post per month). You can submit a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly column to the cause and your contribution can have an ongoing theme or simply deliver a point on a specific craft beer topic.
One thing you won’t find on Breaking Brews, unless it’s related to macro beer or entities trying to keep craft beer down, is a lot of smack talk. If you don’t like a beer, that’s OK. Beer is subjective. But this is not an outlet to verbally rip that beer to shreds. The mission behind Breaking Brews is to advocate for all the great things the craft beer industry has brought to the table and your writing should reflect that.
Other than that, the sky’s the limit!
How do you join the BBBA?
Getting involved is easy! Simply email your expression of interest, any ideas you have for a column or video series, and a writing sample (if you have any) to firstname.lastname@example.org. From there, we’ll set up a time to talk and determine the best way to get you contributing to Breaking Brews as soon as possible!
If you’ve been looking to contribute to the craft beer scene, Breaking Brews is a great place to start and we’d love to have you as part of the BBBA. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
